Bottoming is a way of sheet metal bending in which the sheet is placed between the V opening in the matrix and the punch/knife, which then bends by pressing the punch. Turning the board makes it possible to create complex spatial profiles. Aside from knife work and the matrix, specialized, complex tools can be used to create special forms.
